Quality of Life Whitepaper
Recognizing that quality of life is crucial to the well-being of individuals and
communities, the JPC's focus on quality of life has two purposes:
- to promote Hamilton¹s quality of life as an attractor of jobs and investment
- to strategize ways to improve the quality of life in Hamilton, both generally
and as an engine of job creation and retention. This paper lays out a framework for
the JPC¹s approach to quality of life issues. It is a first step in formulating the JPC¹s
action plan on quality of life.
Immigration Whitepaper
Immigration has been instrumental to Hamilton’s past economic growth and
development, and it continues to be so in the present. Looking to the future, we
will need ongoing population growth to fill workforce needs and to ensure
sustained economic growth. Therefore, attracting and retaining immigrants is a critical component of our economic development efforts.
The JPC Immigration Whitepaper describes the importance of immigration to Hamilton’s economic prosperity and provides a context for action to ensure Hamilton continues to
attract the immigrants it needs.
