Immigration

Hamilton’s growth, like other major Canadian cities, will depend more and more on immigration. We need to attract and retain new Canadians with skills and knowledge well-matched to our employment needs. We need to understand what skills and experience current immigrants offer to our community and support their successful integration into our economic, civic, and cultural life. We need to understand that the future of Hamilton’s immigrants is, in fact, the future of Hamilton.
