Quality of Life
Directly related to the image of the City of Hamilton is the quality of life it provides citizens, both new and established. This part of the framework highlights existing and future city attributes in the area of arts and culture, heritage and preservation, ecology, health and wellness, etc. It directly relates to the work of the Hamilton Roundtable on Poverty Reduction. Hamilton’s network of social services, its cultural and recreational opportunities for citizens, its land use planning, its public infrastructure, and its environmental quality all need to be maximized so that Hamilton is seen as moving forward in all areas of community health and social well-being.

Donald Jaffray
Don is the Executive Director of the Social Planning and Research Council of Hamilton. He has extensive experience as a social planner and social welfare policy analyst. Don's expertise includes management practice in the non-profit sector, strategic planning, community development techniques, program evaluation and qualitative and quantitative social research design and data analysis. Don has a B.A. from the University of Guelph and his M.A. (Social Welfare Policy) from McMaster University. He is an Assistant Professor (part-time) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University providing instruction on community studies and health service planning.
